On Saturday, September 16th, TCAB and the T-COMmons community celebrated the contributions of Dr. Kenneth Rainey.

Dr. Rainey held the seat of honor and he was showered with love, hugs, and best wishes. His VIP table included his wife, sons, grandchildren, and other close family. A multi-media presentation highlighted the life and times of Dr. Rainey including his love for the outdoors and traveling as well as his retirement plans. The party then turned to the Roast, where guests shared very funny stories about Dr. Rainey and how much he meant to them. Dr. Carol Barnum shared well wishes posted on the Bulletin Board, and other professors such as Dr. Keith Hopper, Dr. David Dayton, and all of the TCOM faculty shared their gratitude and thanks. The most emotional speech of the evening came from one of Dr. Rainey's sons who was proud of his father's contributions and achievements.Dr. Rainey then proceeded to speak and stated he believed that SPSU has the greatest TCOM program in the country. He pledged $10,000 to the SPSU Foundation to start a scholarship fund and received a standing ovation. The RaineyRoast was a success, with the raffle and silent auction bringing more than $3000 in donations to the SPSU Foundation.
